Golf Cart Chargers and Parts

Your golf cart charger and the parts that go into it are vital for keeping your cart running well and smoothly. Your charger is what enables the battery in your cart to run—by essentially storing up the power in your golf cart battery. A charger that is in good working order will help maintain the overall health of your golf cart, ensure that you get the most use and mileage out of it, as well as cut down on other potential repairs. Luckily for you, DIY Golf Cart stocks chargers and parts for all the major golf cart manufacturers, including: EZGO, Yamaha, Club Car, Tomberlin, Star, Fairplay, Taylor Dunn, Gem and Columbia golf carts.

Each golf cart brand, company or manufacturer requires a different charger for their particular cart. So, an EZGO charger is not interchangeable with a Yamaha charger. If you try to install an EZGO charger into your Yamaha cart, it will either not fit, or hook up correctly, so the mistake will be fairly obvious. Or, if you can get it into place, the current will simply not power the battery charger. In a worst-case scenario, you may actually damage your golf cart by trying to install and connect the incorrect battery for its type. Golf cart chargers are measured in Volts, and within this, there is a wide voltage range for each type of charger.

Depending on the model of your cart, you may sometimes be able to upgrade the voltage of your charger, which may enable your battery to store more power, thus being able to hold a charge for a longer period of time. But, before you decide to try to do this, you must be sure that your particular make and model of golf cart can accommodate such a change. Most golf cart chargers are now automatic, which means that they are triggered to turn off once your battery if fully charged. This is important because it won’t overcharge your battery, which will eventually drain the length of life from your battery.

DIY Golf Cart is committed to affordable and competitive prices, and believes that you should not have to pay an arm and a leg to keep your cart in good working order! We want you to be able to get out there and enjoy your cart, so want to help you get back on track as soon as possible. Sometimes, you may just need to replace a part to your charger, rather than the entire charger DIY Golf Cart stocks full chargers as well as charger parts and can help you trouble-shoot to determine if what you need is just a replacement part, or a whole new charger.
